It’s been five years since Pastor Raymond Koh was abducted in plain sight in the streets of Malaysia. The Koh family still has not found their closure. There have been no new updates on his whereabouts, but the family desperately seeks to find answers, putting pressure on the government to keep working on the case until it is resolved.
OD local partners recently visited Susanna to give her a new stack of letters she has received from believers in North America. Susanna was so appreciative of the letters saying, “I still have to get through the ones I received from my recent trip to the States. I try to write them back too – those letters that come with a mailing address. But this makes me so happy, and Jonathan would be so happy too!” Susanna and her son, Jonathan, recently took a trip to the United States in October 2021.
There they met with various prayer partners and other supporters who have been encouraging the family since 2017. She also met new friends and prayer partners who were loving, gracious, and hospitable towards them. She couldn’t stop talking about how grateful she was towards her international brothers and sisters in Christ who have been so faithful in sharing her story after all these years.
Susanna will be hosting another candlelight vigil for Pastor Raymond this year on the 13th of February 2022. It will not be a very large gathering as there are still many COVID restrictions, but there will be a live stream for those unable to physically attend the vigil. Susanna has asked us to continue to pray with her as she attends the next case management hearing. It was originally scheduled on Monday, 31st of January 2022, but was
postponed to an indefinite date. She has asked us to pray that there will be no delays in this case. Pray also for strength for the family as they face yet another year without Raymond.
To say that these five years have been hard would be an understatement, but every prayer, every word of encouragement, and all the effort every person has put into to keep Pastor Raymond’s story alive has been a beacon of hope for the Koh family. Nothing goes unnoticed, nothing has been taken for granted and nothing will be. Susanna says, of your prayers: “If it wasn’t for them, I don’t know where we’d be now.”
Pray
1. Please continue to pray for the Koh family as they navigate another year without Raymond. Pray that God would continue to grant them favour and anointing on their lives.
2. Pray for the case management hearing – that it will not be delayed, better yet, it would be great if the case could be pushed forward so there isn’t such a large gap between one hearing and another.
