Challenge Day 3: Isolated and Alone

Day 3 of the 2026 One With Them Challenge!

Welcome to day 3 of the 2026 One With Them Challenge.

When you lose your freedom because of your faith, it can be very isolating. Whether you’re imprisoned, abducted and held captive, or even stuck in your own home, isolation takes a toll on Christian captives.

When Tara came to faith in Jesus, her husband was furious. He did not want her following Jesus.

First, he threatened to divorce her if she didn’t recant her faith. Then he started to physically assault her.

Tara was confined to her home by her husband and her in-laws. They refused to let her go to church and they broke her cell phone to isolate her further.

She can’t meet with believers, she can’t call or text them, she had been isolated and held captive in her own home.

Captors often use isolation as a tool to try and stamp out the faith of their captors. But we have a secret weapon to break that isolation. As Brother Andrew said, “Our prayers can go where we cannot…there are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray.”

Today's Challenge

As an act of solidarity with our captive sisters and brothers, today’s challenge is to isolate yourself for one hour. That means no phone calls, text, emails, no conversations with other people. Force yourself to be completely alone for an hour.

If an hour won’t work, pick a different amount of time, but keep yourself from contact with others. Why don’t you use this time to visit with our isolated brothers and sisters in prayer?

Pray

Persecutors might think they have their prisoners isolated, but today you can pray for them. There is nothing that persecutors can do to keep our prayers from impacting and encouraging our persecuted brothers and sisters. Let’s meet with them in prayer today.
